Facilities and Safety Manager

Our Facilities and Safety Manager plays a pivotal role at Dick Hannah Dealerships, tasked with embedding environmental health and safety practices deeply into our organizational ethos. This critical position oversees various facets of site management, including facility maintenance, regular compliance in health, safety, and environmental standards, injury prevention strategies, and risk management initiatives relevant to Dick Hannah Dealerships.

Automotive Facilities and Safety Manager Compensation and Benefits:

 

Automotive Facilities and Safety Manager:   $85,000-$105,000 DOE

 

Generous Paid Time Off (PTO): We prioritize work-life balance, offering industry-leading PTO. New full-time employees accrue 4 hours per pay period, totaling approximately 96 hours in the first year, with increases over time.

Paid Holidays: Hannah Motor Company offers 6 paid holidays per year to Automotive Facilities and Safety Manager subject to completion of the introductory period and other eligibility requirements as per company policy.

Automotive Facilities and Safety Manager Responsibilities: 

  • Develops and implements successful compliance strategies and processes to ensure adherence to all internal and external environment health and safety regulations.
  • Create and foster positive working relationships with many different individuals and across many different job categories.
  • Coordinate and supervise maintenance and grounds keeping personnel and services.
  • Communicate project and facility status regularly to senior management.
  • Manage the facility request system ensuring timely resolution of requests.
  • Develop and maintain operating budgets and reporting versus actual expenditures.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a workplace safety program in compliance with state and federal agency requirements.
  • Develop and implement clear, concise policies and procedures to achieve safety goals.
  • Collaborate with managers, supervisors, and employees to achieve safety outcomes.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve safety issues.
  • Coordinate contractors, insurance representatives and jurisdiction officials for periodic inspections of facilities and fire suppression systems.
  • Maintain organized and detailed records and report to various regulatory agencies for compliance.
  • Collaborate with Managers, Employees and HR to support Early Return to Work for Injured Employees.
  • Conduct Respiratory Fit Tests, Forklift and Aerial lift Practical Evaluations.

Facilities and Safety Manager Qualifications: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in industrial safety, occupational safety and health, safety management, or involvement in an accredited college safety program preferred.
  • Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) preferred.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of employee safety and health administration, including safety and health education and training, safety auditing, worksite compliance and hazard assessment inspections, accident investigations, and safety committee operations.
  • A working knowledge of the Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA), Washington State Department of Labor and Industries/Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Oregon OSHA (OR-OSHA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). 
  • Basic knowledge of dealership operations preferred. 
  • Three years’ work experience in industrial safety preferred.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and other systems as needed. 
  • Physical ability to use computer hardware/software.
  • Excellent communication skills (including listening, speaking).
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize while recognizing and meeting appropriate deadlines.
  • Ability to work alone, self-motivate and manage one’s own time.
  • Organized and extremely detail oriented. 
  • Research skills.
  • General math skills.
